The people who make the television show Gotta Grudge, and the people who watch it, should be ashamed of themselves.
Meanwhile, why are the police not looking into this? In Canada, dueling is illegal, and punishable as an indictable offence under s. 71 of the Criminal Code.
(a) challenges or attempts by any means to provoke another person to fight a duel,(b) attempts to provoke a person to challenge another person to fight a duel, or(c) accepts a challenge to fight a duel,is guilty of an indictable offence and liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years.
I believe that a very strong case can be made that this is exactly what Gotta Grudge is doing. In our society, we allow a certain amount of organized violence, within the confines of licensed and regulated sports. We do not allow private citizens to settle their "grudges" through violence, or at least I didn't think that we did.
It seems that I was wrong.

Take it easy bud, its only a boxing match with people who don't even know how to throw a proper punch. It's stuck up people like you who think "duel" means more then what this show has to offer. 1) the show is made by the score (a canadian broadcast network) 2) the generated jobs for canadiens who were able to put food on their table or pay there bills and 3) no one was hurt during the filming of the series, not just that they all made up after the amateur matches they had. The article writer needs to know that saying something as stupid as he did shows his lack of subject knowledge. Remember when our parents use to tell us that if you don't have anything useful to say don't say anything? No? Well you just have been told now.
You're welcome to your opinion. It's an opinion that symbolizes everything that's wrong with society in general, and modern television programming in particular (something I suspect I know more about than you), but if you enjoy a "show" like Gotta Grudge, more power to you. Just one thing - please, please, don't ever vote.
