There's an interesting site called Song Meanings, where lyrics to songs are posted and people comment as to what they think they mean, or what they got out of it (not always the same thing). The discussion of "Wise Up" can be found here.

I've often thought that I need to get out of my own way - sometimes for the better, and sometimes for worse - and sometimes 'the better and the worse'are one in the same. My spirit of adventure is responsible for some of the best and worse experiences in life.
